General:
ACSR is made of a hard round aluminum and galvanized steel wire formed by stranding. It is the most commonly used conductor in the transmission and distribution lines. The ratio of steel section to aluminum section in the ACSR is called steel ratio. The larger the steel ratio, the higher the strength of the conductor. It can be applied to a large span on the line or used as overhead ground wire lines. Bundled conductors are widely used in EHV lines in modern power grid, greatly increasing the proportion of conductors in construction investment of the line. Therefore, a reasonable choice of conductor wire structure can effectively save the investment of the line and reduce the cost of the line.
